The Denis Law Legacy Trust is delighted to announce that Ruud van Nistelrooy, legendary Dutch striker and former Manchester United star, will be the guest speaker at the Trust’s 2025 Fundraising Dinner, set as always to take place at the Marcliffe Hotel later this month.
Widely regarded as one of the most clinical forwards of his generation, the former Man United and Real Madrid star’s presence, his first in Aberdeen, will bring great awareness and attention to this great annual event, which will celebrate the life and legacy of Denis Law whilst also raising vital funds to support the children’s charity’s free-to-access youth programmes across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Ruud on coming up to Aberdeen said: “It’s a true honour to be invited to speak at the Denis Law Legacy Trust’s fundraising dinner. Denis was not only a footballing icon, but a deeply humble and generous man who cared passionately about giving young people a chance. I was lucky enough to know him personally, and I’ve seen the impact his legacy continues to have in Aberdeen and beyond. To support a charity that carries his name and his spirit forward is something I’m very proud to be part of.”
Mark Williams, Chief Operating Officer of the Trust, shared his excitement: “We are honoured to welcome Ruud van Nistelrooy to Aberdeen for this special evening. His connection to Manchester United and admiration for Denis Law make him the perfect guest to help us celebrate the impact of our work and inspire the next generation.”
The evening will feature a Q and A with van Nistelrooy, as well as a celebration of all the Trust’s achievements, a new Ambassador for the Trust will also be announced plus many other surprises!
During the night there will be many opportunities to bid on unique items such as a 5 a side football match against the Class of 92 on the roof of Hotel Football, lunch with Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford and many other rare experiences and items that include signed Denis Law memorabilia from his Scotland debut back in 1958 and opportunities to purchase a new unique “Yes Ball Games” football, the 5th edition of the Trusts rare line in footballs inspired by the charities work and the great Denis Law.
All funds raised on the night will go towards supporting the charities core programmes Streetsport, Club 10, and the Denis Law Academy, which over 2025 are on course to engage with over 30,000 young people. The Charity is based and runs its work in partnership with Robert Gordon University.
The silent auction will go live before the actual night and can be accessed via a link that will be published on the Trusts social media pages for anyone interested in bidding for some quite special items. Give the relevant social media pages a follow/like to find out more.
The fundraising dinner is already a sell out and many thanks go to all our sponsors who have contributed to helping us make this a very special night in Denis’s name.
