The DF Business Golf League will mark its biggest year yet with the Grand Final taking place on October 8th at the highly anticipated new Trump Scotland golf course, featuring a special appearance from Ryder Cup legend Paul Way.
In its annual tradition, the DF Golf League brings together local businesses and golf enthusiasts from across the North East for a season of networking, culminating in a grand finale. This year’s Grand Final promises to be a standout event, hosted at one of Scotland’s most talked-about new championship courses.
In addition to an opportunity to play on the highly anticipated new Trump Scotland course, officially opened earlier this year, DF Communications has announced that former Ryder Cup player Paul Way will be attending as a special guest.
Way is best known for his performances in the 1983 and 1985 Ryder Cups, becoming one of the youngest-ever European selections at the time and playing with legends like Seve, Faldo, Lyle and Woosnam. His appearance comes during a Ryder Cup year, offering finalists the rare opportunity to hear personal insights from one of Europe’s most memorable competitors.
“It’s a real honour to welcome Paul Way to the Final,” said Craig Forsyth, Sales Director of DF Communications. “His story is a true inspiration, and having him join us adds a unique prestige to what’s already shaping up to be an unforgettable day.”
Craig, together with Key Account Manager Iain Powell, has been organising the DF Golf League for over a decade, growing it from a small networking event into a staple of the North East business calendar.

While the format, players, and competition have evolved over the years, the heart of the league has always remained the same: helping local businesses connect and build relationships, just as DF Communications has done for almost 40 years through telecoms.
The league has fundraising at its heart, with proceeds each year donated to a chosen charity. This year, Aberdeen Cyrenians is the beneficiary, and thanks to the generosity of players, the DFC Golf Open raised over £1,000 to support their vital work.
The Grand Final in October will bring together the top teams who qualified from the opening event earlier in the year, an occasion that not only celebrates competition on the course but also contributes to making a difference in the local community.
With growing interest each year, the DF Golf League has become more than just a sports fixture in its 14th year. It has become a platform that brings together professionals from a wide range of industries in the North East. The addition of a Ryder Cup star and the debut of a world-class venue are testaments to the league’s momentum and continued success.
