Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel & Spa is celebrating being shortlisted for the prestigious Aberdeen City and Shire Thistle Awards, in the Best Hotel category.
The Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel & Spa is one of three finalists in the category, with the overall winner being announced at a sold-out awards ceremony on 18th September.
The 218-bedroom, 4-star hotel, which first opened in August 2018, is located within a carefully restored historic granite building in Aberdeen city centre. It was the third UK property from the Canada-based Sandman Hotel Group, and it caters to both corporate and leisure guests. Facilities include Chop Grill & Bar, a premium casual dining concept with a North American influence, extensive meeting and event facilities and the Signature Spa, introduced in 2022, which has established itself as one of the leading spa facilities in the city.
The award entry for Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel & Spa focused on its strong customer satisfaction levels, a growth of its leisure offering, accessibility, partnerships within the community and environmental credentials. Guest feedback across review platforms is consistently high, with scores remaining above 4.5 out of 5 on sites such as TripAdvisor.
Sustainability is a key priority, with the hotel having achieved Green Key accreditation, which is international recognition of its commitment to responsible tourism and environmental best practice.
Partnerships are central to how the hotel provides a top-level visitor experience, working closely with organisations such as VisitAberdeenshire, Aberdeen Sports Village, Aberdeen Performing Arts and Nuart Festival. As the official hotel partner for Nuart, the hotel hosts international artists each year, contributing to the cultural offering of the city and creating a distinctive experience for guests. It also works with organisations including Aberdeen Foyer and The King’s Trust to provide employment opportunities and pathways into hospitality.
