SBP is proud to support the Russell Anderson Foundation (RAF) as its official corporate charity partner.

In support of the charity’s ongoing work to improving the health and wellbeing of children and families across some of the most socially deprived areas of Aberdeen, SBP is backing a new initiative to collect football boots and trainers for those in need, and to kick-start the appeal, SBP has donated an initial 25 pairs of new trainers and football boots.

From today, the firm’s Aberdeen and Peterhead offices will act as dedicated drop-off points for anyone wishing to donate new or gently used football boots and trainers. All donations will go directly to the Russell Anderson Foundation, which distributes footwear to children and young people who might otherwise miss out on the opportunity to participate in sport.

Jamie Smith, business development associate, comments: “We are excited to be supporting the Russell Anderson Foundation as our chosen corporate charity, and we are delighted to kick-start this appeal with an initial donation of 25 pairs of trainers and football boots. Their work in improving physical and mental wellbeing, particularly among young people in our local communities, is truly inspiring. By opening our offices as drop-off points, we hope to make it easier for our staff, clients, and local residents to contribute to such a worthwhile cause.”

The Foundation, established by former Aberdeen FC captain Russell Anderson, provides multi-sport and wellbeing programmes, and support, aimed at improving the quality of life for children through education, nutrition, and physical activity. The boots and trainers appeal plays a vital role in ensuring every child has the chance to take part in sport regardless of their circumstances.

Kim Woolner, CEO of the charity, commented: “We are extremely grateful to SBP for their generous donation and ongoing support. The 25 pairs of footwear will make an immediate impact, and having additional drop-off points in Aberdeen and Peterhead will help us reach even more children across the city.”
