Staff at Shell have started relocating from Altens to the firm's new office in Aberdeen City Centre.
The energy giant is moving its Aberdeen operation to The Silver Fin Building on Union Street to provide staff with a modern workplace, fit for the future.
The move has been widely welcomed by business leaders, who say it will increase footfall to the many retailers, cafes, restaurants and businesses in the area and act as a catalyst for further generation of the West End of Union Street.
Over the weekend, Shell's North Sea boss Simon Roddy provided an update on the move, confirming that a number of staff have already made the switch.
Writing on LinkedIn, Mr Roddy said that move was the most frequent thing he is asked about by friends and colleagues.
"I think it speaks to how significant this move is - both for Shell and the city," he said.
"Our lease on the building started in April, and we already have one floor of 'early adopters' fully embracing city centre working life.
"We are preparing the rest of the building for the full move, expected by the end of the year.
"Last week, I was joined by reps from the landlord (British Airways Pension Fund) and Space Solutions to support the project team and see the great progress being made.
"This includes the creation of an urban garden and significant refurbishment of the Chapel Street car park."
Shell's first office opened in Union Street in 1965 and in 2018 it marked 50 years of production in the North Sea.
The company said the Silver Fin move demonstrated its "continued partnership with the city and the region", as well as its commitment to the communities and businesses here.
