A law firm insisted it is "highly unlikely" there would be any consumer confusion between its new logo and that of tennis star Serena Williams.

Shepherd and Wedderburn, the full-service legal firm, revealed its rebranded logo last week, but people were quick to point out the similarities between it and Serena Williams' jewellery range logo.

The law firm's rebrand was supported by Neon Brand Consultancy, a London-based company.

Announcing the rebrand on social media, Shepherd and Wedderburn said: “Our refreshed brand reflects our ambitions and supports the principles that underpin our strategic direction.

“Thanks to our clients, colleagues and Neon Brand Consultancy for their support during the project. We look forward to this exciting new chapter for the firm.”

A Shepherd and Wedderburn spokesperson told The Times: “We followed a creative development process to arrive at the firm’s new logo; any similarities with other brands are purely coincidental.

"It is highly unlikely there will be any consumer confusion between a law firm and Serena Williams’ jewellery range.”

Neon has yet to comment.
