ACVO TSI, Aberdeen’s third sector interface, is pleased to share the publication of the July 2025 edition of ACVO News, the free digital magazine showcasing the latest community news, insights and opportunities from across Aberdeen.

ACVO News is a key platform in promoting the vibrant work of third sector organisations in Aberdeen, providing the latest funding opportunities, volunteering roles, events and vacancies in the city and sharing the latest insights from the ACVO team.

This month, Funding Officer Claire Shaw shares her thoughts on social investment, Policy & Consultations Officer Alasdair Ross provides updates on OSCR charity trustee information and Volunteering Services Manager Mike Melvin reflects on Volunteers’ Week 2025.

Maggie Hepburn, Chief Executive, says: “This month’s edition of ACVO News highlights, once again, the variety of work taking place across Aberdeen’s third sector and how much of it is driven by collaboration, lived experience, and, crucially, the right kind of support.”

Reflecting these themes, the newsletter highlights how CFINE is amplifying the power of lived experience voices to drive political change ahead of Scotland’s 2026 election.

The news also puts a spotlight on the return of The Tall Ships Races to Aberdeen. Volunteers who will help steer the festival share their anticipation for the event and hopes for a lasting legacy for the city.

In a short film, Grampian Inclusive Cycling Bothies discuss their accessible, adaptive sessions where anyone can come along and take part to feel the benefits and freedom of cycling no matter your abilities.

News from Station House Media Unit (shmu) is also highlighted as they announce Phionna McInnes, Chief Ninja at We Too!, as the winner of the 2025 Angela Joss ‘Bee You’ Memorial Award.

Other third sector updates in this month’s edition include:

  • ACVO TSI and trusted partners invite you to the Cash First Year 1 Reflection Event on Wednesday 30th July to discover updates from the project’s first year and to hear first-hand, spoken accounts from individuals impacted by the Fund in an interactive showcase
  • Touch of Love Outreach celebrate an amazing double-win at the SCVO Charity Awards
  • All Life Chances team up with Codona’s to give 200 young people a fun-filled, memorable day out

Third sector organisations, charities and community groups are welcome to contact ACVO to share their stories or if they wish to have a feature article highlighting the work they do in Aberdeen.
