ACVO TSI, Aberdeen’s third sector interface, is pleased to share the publication of the May 2025 edition of ACVO News, the free digital magazine showcasing the latest community news, updates and opportunities from Aberdeen City.

Each month, ACVO News plays a key role in promoting the vibrant work of third sector organisations across Aberdeen, as well as providing the latest funding opportunities, volunteering roles, events and vacancies in the city.

In this month’s edition, a spotlight is shone on Tullos Crescent Allotments in Torry where the small team of community gardeners are cultivating connection, improving wellbeing and learning skills through growing fresh fruit and vegetables.

The newsletter also features the brand new Souperb project at Old Torry Community Centre,a friendly, welcoming space where homemade soup brings neighbours closer together.

Readers can also discover the powerful voices of St Machar Credit Union in this month’s edition, detailing how financial wellbeing and human connection go hand in hand.

In addition to these highlights, the May ACVO News also features Gavin Wright from Alcohol & Drugs Action who has recently completed the Paris Marathon to raise funds and awareness for recovery services.

Other third sector updates in this month’s edition include:

  • Grampian Pride returns this June with a grassroots celebration of visibility and unity
  • VSA launches an exciting new Education Partnership Plan aimed at empowering the next generation
  • The announcement of this years’ Celebrate Aberdeen parade date, taking place on Saturday 23rd August 2025.

ACVO invites third sector organisations, charities and community groups from across Aberdeen to share their stories or to get in touch if they wish to have a feature article highlighting the work they do in the city.
