Signal Media was once again thrilled to be invited by Aberdeen City Council to film the incredible Big Sing 2025 event - an uplifting celebration of music, community, and youthful talent.

This marked the third time the team has covered this special occasion, having produced films for the 2023 and 2024 events.

Capturing an event of this scale - featuring hundreds of school children, live music, enthusiastic audiences, and countless moving parts - required careful planning and coordination. Signal was eager to showcase the full journey through to the final performance.

In the lead-up to the big day, the crew filmed rehearsals across several local schools. This behind-the-scenes footage highlighted the dedication of the students, instructors, and music coordinator Alisdair Snedden, building a genuine sense of excitement leading up to the main event.

The film crew comprised a producer, director, drone operator, three camera operators, and a stills photographer to capture every angle of the performance. GoPros were even handed out to pupils from local schools, offering a unique, first-person view of the experience from their perspective.

The event was nothing short of joyful, energetic, and heartwarming.

Reflecting on his experience helping shoot and edit the event, Richard Baron said: “My Signal debut came at The Big Sing 2025 in Aberdeen. And what a way to start! With five cameras on the ground, a drone in the air, and even a GoPro in the kids’ hands, we captured the energy from every angle. Editing it down to a sharp highlights reel was a creative challenge, but the feedback from the client has been fantastic."

Signal looks forward to returning next year - bigger than before.
