Skene marks 35th anniversary with expansion plans

A leading family-owned provider of quality serviced office accommodation has celebrated a landmark anniversary by announcing that it plans to further expand its West End facilities to the tune of more than £1m.

Skene Business Centres, which operates prime serviced office accommodation at 7 Queen’s Gardens, 23 Rubislaw Den North and 96 Rosemount Viaduct in Aberdeen, celebrates its 35th anniversary this year.

Following the addition of 3,580 square feet at 2 Queen’s Gardens to the portfolio just last year, plans have now been announced to further grow the space available thanks to the purchase of 3 Queen’s Gardens. The new space will offer a further 2,811 square feet housing up to 50 desks, two kitchens, a meeting room and a shower room. Additional free car parking will be provided for the development, which is expected to open in 2020.

The move will bring the total amount of space offered by Skene Business Centres at Queen’s Gardens to 16,024 square feet.

Skene Business Centres offer their serviced office and virtual office clients reception, telephone answering and administration services, with boardroom and meeting rooms available to internal and external clients. Amongst the options on offer are fully furnished and equipped serviced offices, ranging from 1 to 12 desks, and virtual offices, which allow businesses to be operational within 24 hours. The flexible system of renting allows companies to contract or expand their office accommodation if and when required without having to change their address or telephone number.

Clients come from a diverse cross section of business sectors, including oil and gas, financial and professional services, and health and medical consultants. They range from local start-ups to established international companies, some of which have been using Skene Business Centres for upwards of a decade.

Commenting on the planned expansion of Queen’s Gardens, Skene Group Chairman, Professor Charles Skene CBE said: “Despite the challenging economic conditions in Aberdeen, our continued expansion reflects the ongoing demand for our business centres, as clients like the flexibility we offer, the wide range of services we provide and the excellent service we give.”
