Yesterday, STV hosted the STV Growth Academy, the first in a series of events designed to provide small and medium sized enterprises with resources and insight which will support them as they take the next step on their business journey.

As the country’s leading digital media company, STV is committed to driving and growing a strong and prosperous Scotland. The STV Growth Academy event got underway at STV’s headquarters this morning featuring a programme themed around growing business with effective solutions.

STV attracts mass audiences - reaching 87% of Scots on air, online and on demand.  Harnessing STV’s wealth of experience in media planning, creative brand development, consumer insight and driving a return on investment, small businesses were invited to attend to hear from a range of speakers who shared their knowledge on topics designed to assist businesses to grow and develop.

Yesterday’s event featured speakers from Royal Bank of Scotland’s Accelerator Hub, as well as STV colleagues who shared valuable insights into scaling a business using social media, public relations and marketing.

Melinda O’Reilly, entrepreneur acceleration manager at the Royal Bank of Scotland, said: “What a fantastic event! It was great to represent the Royal Bank Entrepreneur Accelerator and share our expertise on the importance of mindset in helping entrepreneurs to start, scale and succeed. STV delivered a really impactful Growth Academy with invaluable insights for start ups.”

STV client services director Danielle Kelly, said: “STV works with a wide range of companies, to help build their brand and connect with their consumers. Through the STV Growth Academy, we hope to reach out to the next generation of Scottish businesses and nurture their development by sharing practical assistance that will make a real difference to them whilst having a real, sustainable positive impact on our country’s economy.”

The STV Growth Academy is free to attend, though places are limited. The next event will take place in Edinburgh on Wednesday, February 20 featuring Zoi Kantounatou, co-founder of FutureX.
