Aberdeen restaurant Smoke and Soul has announced it is to remain closed temporarily while it considers its future.
Smoke and Soul at The Old Smiddy and Smoke and Soul at The Firepit have been shut this month while, as with many businesses, staff battled severe weather conditions.
But the eatery has now announced on social media that its challenges are deeper than the snow.
An update posted on Instagram read: "This hasn't been the start to 2026 that we'd envisioned. Over the past few weeks our team has had to down tongs and tools for a number of reasons, many of them completely outwith our control.
"The snow was magical, but it brought operations to a standstill across the board, and there are still some big, heavy things we're working through now, long after it's melted.
"Like so many in our industry right now, we're facing the same pressures and challenges, and that means some important decisions need to be made about how we move forward into the year ahead.
"For now, we're remaining closed while we take the time to properly figure things out, rather than rushing into announcements before there's anything definite to share.
"We know a lot of you have probably already broken your January healthy-eating resolutions and are itching to get back through our doors... we promise we'll update you properly as soon as we can.
"Sending love and solidarity to everyone in hospitality who's had a tough start to their trading year."
