With a new refreshed summer menu soon on offer, SOBR on Aberdeen's Thistle Street has announced that it has added another local supplier to its innovative drinks range.

The bar and events space is now stocking Fierce Beer, brewed in Dyce.

Founded in 2016, the Fierce Beer range is known for its intense favour packed beers, stouts, IPA’s and barrel aged offerings. Winning Scottish Brewery of the Year in 2021, the independent business has continued to go from strength to strength, with its beers stocked in leading supermarkets and signature bars in Edinburgh and Aberdeen, including one within Pittodrie Stadium.

Two vegan friendly, gluten free, 0.5% beers that are part of the Fierce Beer range, are now available to enjoy at SOBR.

Peach Fuzz is an easy drinking pale lager, with a juicy peach punch, whilst Fancy Juice is a zero IPA with a light, zesty and fruity hops aroma and a bittersweet flavour.

“Fierce Beer is a fantastic addition to our current product portfolio of zero beers and lagers,” said Kate Kenyon, SOBR Bar owner.

“We’re always on the lookout for different varieties to increase customer choice. To stock a range such as Fierce, brewed right here in Aberdeen is even better, as we love to support local at SOBR. Whether it’s a beer, a new distilled zero spirit entering the marketplace, a hot drink or a bar snack to enjoy with your drinks, our first plan is always to check out what's available locally. We’re very fortunate to be based in the vibrant foodie street that is Thistle Street, as the artisan food and drink businesses here are ripe for collaboration.”

Commenting from Fierce Beer, Mark McAulay, Marketing Manager, said: "Fierce Beer has always been about flavour first, and that doesn't change across any of our range. SOBR clearly has the same standards when it comes to what they put in front of their customers, and that's exactly the kind of place we want our beers. We're glad to have two beers from our range in there and we think Aberdeen will be equally glad once they've tried them."

Since opening last October, SOBR has collaborated with French style Patisserie Almondine, based in Thistle Street, with its handmade macarons becoming a regular fixture on the SOBR menu.

Five “Cheese Weeks”, held over the winter, saw a tie up with The Gourmet Cheese Company, an independent cheesemonger run by Kathryn Figueiredo in Rosemount for the past seven years. SOBR also collaborated with local florist Flower Vogue and By Platter, who provide delicious tasting platters, for its wreath making classes in December. Most recently, Figment Coffee was brought onboard as SOBR’s hot drinks provider, making them one of the few drinks venues in the city to serve coffee after 6pm.

SOBR has been listed in i News Top 30 Days Out for Adults that don’t involve drinking & is through to the next round in the Great British Pub Awards, Best Community Pub 2026.
