With their first win recorded, and Scotland currently top of the group in the FIFA World Cup, football fever is definitely gripping Scotland!

SOBR Bar and Events space in Aberdeen is one of many hospitality businesses taking part in Aberdeen Inspired’s Paint The Town Tartan campaign, creating specially crafted World Cup cocktails to celebrate the tournament. The difference with SOBR is that its cocktails are all alcohol free. Whilst missing nothing on taste, creativity and aesthetic, they ensure that those who do not drink alcohol do not have to miss out on the excitement of Scotland’s World Cup endeavours.

Three of SOBR’s World Cup cocktails, available throughout the entire tournament, are inspired by the host nations, with the fourth referencing Scotland.

For Canada, SOBR has created a smooth and sophisticated twist on a Maple Old-Fashioned, featuring rich maple notes and warm bitters.

Based on the Cosmopolitan, the USA tipple is a perfect balance of tart cranberry, zesty lime and subtle sweetness.

Spicy notes of pineapple, grapefruit and agave, with a gentle chilli kick, is found in the Mexico cocktail, SOBR’s twist on a Paloma, bringing a taste of the sunshine and beaches of Cancun to Aberdeen.

Finally, the Scotland special features Irn Bru, served as a refreshing spiritz, with the popular carbonated drink mixed with bright citrus and sparkling fizz.

“We're thrilled to be getting behind Paint The Town Tartan and the World Cup here at SOBR. To mark the occasion, we've created four outstanding alcohol-free cocktails inspired by the host nations and our own, so everyone can raise a glass and cheer on Scotland in style — whether they're drinking or not,” said Kate Kenyon, owner and founder of SOBR.

“It's been a generation since we've had a summer like this to look forward to and we can't wait to play our part in bringing that buzz to the city centre. Here's to a tournament to remember - come on Scotland!”
