Solab IT Services, a local IT business based in Aberdeen, is continuing its rapid expansion within the Information Technology industry and is now looking for a Finance Administrator to join its growing team.

The Role
The Finance Administrator position plays a key role within the Finance team, supporting a range of financial administration activities and providing direct support to the Finance Manager. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes across the business. The role also provides key administrative and operational support across both Solab IT Services and Onboard Tracker.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of finance and administration tasks, including:
- Financial Data Management: Maintaining accurate financial records and completing data entry tasks, including updating licence spreadsheets and billing information.
- Invoice & Finance Administration: Creating and raising invoices, entering purchase orders, releasing invoices, and supporting account administration within an external accounting system (ready for transfer to Sage).
- Audit Support: Assisting with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to information requests.
- Financial Controls Support: Supporting the maintenance of financial controls, documentation, and processes to support compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
- Administrative Support: Acting as the first point of contact for visitors, phone calls, and email enquiries. Providing general administrative support to the Sales, Finance, Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering teams, alongside ad‑hoc support as required.
- Accounts Mailbox Coordination: Monitoring and managing the accounts mailbox daily, ensuring invoices, statements, remittances, and queries are processed efficiently and routed to the appropriate team members.
- Process Improvement: Contributing ideas to improve finance systems and processes, improving efficiency, accuracy, and operational effectiveness.
- Supplier & Order Coordination: Ordering office supplies, managing stock levels, and coordinating the Authorised Supplier process.
The Ideal Candidate
Solab IT Services is seeking a candidate who can demonstrate the following qualifications, experience, and skills:
- Previous experience within a finance office role, ideally within an IT or software licensing environment.
- Knowledge of double‑entry bookkeeping (advantageous).
- Strong proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work independently.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Work Location & Hours
This is an office‑based role located in Aberdeen (AB11 6JN), offering some flexibility in working pattern.
The role is available on a minimum part‑time basis of 24 hours per week, with the option to increase to full‑time hours.
