The Kaiser Chiefs gig for The Tall Ships Races Aberdeen has sold out – three months before the 50-strong fleet arrives for a weekend of spectacular celebrations in July.

This is the second of the special Quayside Concerts to sell out, with tickets for Deacon Blue already snapped up for the unique 7,000 capacity venue being created at Peterson Seabase for the Tall Ships.

Organisers say there are now only a handful of tickets left for the Ministry of Sound Classical gig and urged music fans to move fast if they want to be part of what promises to be an unforgettable night of iconic Ministry of Sound tunes – with strings attached.

Bundled tickets for all three Quayside Concerts – Deacon Blue on Friday, July 18; Ministry of Sound Classical on Saturday, July 19, and Kaiser Chiefs on Monday, July 21 - have also sold out.

But as an added bonus for music fans, more details have been announced on how to be in the audience for the free gig with Tide Lines and Callum Bowie, which is being staged on Sunday, July 20, as a “thank you” to the people of Aberdeen for supporting the Tall Ships.

“We have been delighted and overwhelmed by the clamour the Quayside Concerts have created, not just for these fantastic four outdoor gigs but also for The Tall Ships Races Aberdeen,” said a spokesperson.

“To have two of our headline concerts sold out – and tickets going fast for a third – three months before even a single ship drops anchor is a real coup and speaks volumes about the building excitement for this once-in-a-lifetime event that will make Aberdeen the only place to be this summer.”

Given the buzz over the Quayside Concerts, organisers said they were thrilled to be able to offer the special free and unticketed concert featuring the talents of Tide Lines and local star Callum Bowie.

They will take to the stage at Peterson Seabase on Sunday, July 20, following a crew prize giving event after a massive crew parade through city streets.

The prize-giving at Peterson will start at 5pm. The evening gig will start with Callum Bowie, due to take to the stage at around 7.40pm, followed by Tide Lines.

Access to the site will be available at any time throughout the day, and with the concert being “first-come-first-served” those wishing to attend are strongly advised to come early to avoid disappointment.

The Tall Ships Races Aberdeen 2025 will run from July 19 to 22 and has been brought to the city by Aberdeen City Council, Port of Aberdeen and Aberdeen Inspired.

As well as 50 beautiful Tall Ships, the celebrations will see a vast array of entertainment, music, food and a unique Curated On The Quayside market around the Port of Aberdeen, plus activities across the city centre including a discovery zone and fun fair.

Adding to the excitement will be a breathtaking aerial display by the Red Arrows on Monday, July 21, and The Band of HM Royal Marines Scotland providing an opening fanfare as well as joining the crew parade on Sunday, July 20.

The event is expected to attract 400,000 visits to Aberdeen and the north-east and The Tall Ships Races is described as the largest free family event in Europe.
