SugarBird Wines, Aberdeen’s first multi-site wine bar and retail operator, has been named a finalist in the national Drinks Retailing Awards (DRAs) 2027.
Spotlighting specialised excellence amongst the UK’s top drink retailers, the DRAs judges have recognised SugarBird Wines' in-house marketing team in a newly formed category: Best Social Media Campaign.
Culminating in SugarBird’s sold-out Rosé All Day party, the wine bar’s summer campaign encompassed approachable wine education, creative content and authentic storytelling. In addition to the launch of Rosé All Day, highlights included the seasonal opening of SugarBird in the Garden’s outdoor terrace, a brand-new food menu, and the promotion of SugarBird’s welcoming, wine-based experiences.
SugarBird Wines’ Marketing Manager, Becky Orlinski, said: “This campaign has been such a joy to work on! We set out to create a connected story that entices more people to explore the world of wine – no pretension, just a chance to learn and discover in a relaxed atmosphere. I am thrilled that it’s resonated with our community and the DRA judges.”
Adding to this, Ruth Grahame, Sales, Marketing & Creative Director, said: “I am overjoyed that our summer social media campaign has received this recognition. Social media has gained a reputation for being inauthentic, and we wanted to challenge that by curating content that our online community would feel connected to. Real voices, real experiences, and a really delicious selection of wine!”
Winners of the Drinks Retailing Awards 2027 will be announced on February 2nd at The Dorchester Hotel in London.
