A late comeback from Greek side PAOK denied Aberdeen a first European group stage win since 2007.

The Dons were leading 2-0 with less than a quarter of the game remaining, but three Greek goals, including a penalty in the fifth minute of stoppage time, dashed any dreams of a famous victory.

After a goalless first-half, the game sprung to life on 50 minutes when a composed Bojan Miovski controlled a Jack McKenzie cross, before slotting home in front of a packed Red Shed.

Things got even better eight minutes later, when the goalscorer turned the provider for Dante Polvara.

Miovski's through-ball found the American midfielder with just the keeper to beat. He obliged with a neat chip to net his second European goal of the season.

A tale of two trios

A triple-substitution soon followed for the visitors, who, up until that point, seemed to struggle with the intensity of the game.

Shortly after, Barry Robson made three changes of his own.

Less than a minute later (73), Kirin Despodov gave PAOK hope of snatching something from the game, netting into an open goal with his first touch of the match.

McKenzie was then denied what looked like a stonewall penalty with the Dons still in the lead.

And with just six minutes of normal time remaining, PAOK skipper and Euro 2016 winner Vierinha scored, helped by an unlucky Jonny Hayes deflection, which wrongfooted Kelle Roos in the Aberdeen goal.

The away side soon stole an unlikely victory from the penalty spot in the 95th minute, Stefan Schwab neatly placing his effort past Roos.
