A spotlight will be shone on safety in the workplace during a new seminar series hosted by Law at Work.
When Safety Fails: And how to prevent it, will explore what steps businesses can take to ensure their staff and contractors got home safely every day.
With experienced speakers from HSE backgrounds, including Louise Taggart, SHP's Most Influential Speaker of 2018 who will share the moving first-hand account of how her brother Michael went to work one day and never returned after suffering a preventable workplace electrocution.
Delegates will also hear from Andy Forbes, ex-health and safety director of Babcock's Marine sector; and LAW's Matthew Ramsey and Sarah Liversidge, both ex-HSE inspectors.
The event will consider what failures inspectors look for after a contractor’s on-site incident or accident, how individual businesses perform under investigation, what the common failings are in attempting to achieve legal compliance relating to contractor safety, how businesses should manage large volumes of contractors; and what the best ‘game-plan’ is to follow to stay legal.
The Aberdeen seminar wil ltake place at The Chester Hotel on June 28, with other events in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
