Stagecoach is marking Armed Forces Day 2026 by offering free bus travel to serving military personnel, veterans and cadets across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and the wider UK this weekend.

The initiative will allow members of the armed forces community to travel free of charge on all Stagecoach bus services on Saturday 27 June and Sunday 28 June, making it easier to attend Armed Forces Day events, commemorations and community celebrations taking place throughout the North-east and across the country.

With its long-standing connections to the armed forces community, including nearby military bases, reservist units and veteran organisations, Aberdeen has a proud tradition of supporting those who serve.

Armed Forces Day provides an opportunity for communities across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to recognise the dedication, professionalism and sacrifice of serving personnel, veterans, reservists and military families.

As one of the region's largest public transport operators, Stagecoach is encouraging members of the armed forces community to make use of the free travel offer to connect with family and friends, attend local events and enjoy the Armed Forces Day weekend.

David Beaton, Managing Director of Stagecoach North Scotland, said:

"Armed Forces Day is an important opportunity to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution made by serving personnel, veterans, reservists and military families across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and the wider north-east.

"We are proud to once again offer free travel across our network as a gesture of thanks for their service, commitment and dedication to our country.

"Many of our colleagues, customers and communities have strong links to the armed forces, and we are honoured to support those who have served, or continue to serve, by helping them travel to events and celebrations taking place this weekend."

To access free travel, serving military personnel and cadets should travel in uniform or present a valid HM Armed Forces identification card. Veterans should present a veteran's badge or military medal.

Stagecoach has been a proud signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant since 2015, recognising the value and contribution of serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families to communities across the UK.
