Step Change in Safety, the member-led organisation which works to prevent incidents and injuries across the energy industry, has announced the start of a phased rebrand as part of its three-year growth strategy.
The first phase was revealed on the opening day of Offshore Europe 2025 at P&J Live in Aberdeen (Tuesday 2nd September), where Step Change in Safety publicly unveiled its new brand identity. Shaped in collaboration with members, the refreshed brand reflects the organisation’s proud heritage and its future direction.
The next phase will see the launch of a redeveloped website in October, designed to simplify navigation, ease user experience, and provide quick access to resources and support.
Craig Wiggins, CEO, said: “This rebrand isn’t about a new look. It represents who we are today and the direction we are going. Our stakeholders and members have been central to this process, ensuring the new brand is a collective step forward, more inclusive and built with the future in mind. It embodies our continued growth and commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the workforce across all parts of the energy industry.”

Nicola Taylor, Business Engagement Manager, added: “Formed by industry for industry in 1997, Step Change in Safety proudly has its origins in the oil and gas sector, with our logo symbolising the original tripartite agreement that built our organisation. That emblem, trusted and recognised for almost three decades, has come to represent a culture of leadership, engagement, and collaboration. While honouring those foundations, our refreshed identity reflects the changing energy landscape and the diversity of our membership base today.”
The renewed brand incorporates inclusive and accessible design principles, ensuring it resonates with an increasingly diverse workforce, including those who are neurodiverse.
This phased rebrand marks a significant milestone in Step Change in Safety’s journey, building on nearly three decades of collaboration across the energy industry. By evolving its brand and digital presence, the organisation reinforces its commitment to working with members to prevent incidents and injuries, and to strengthen safety culture across the energy industry.
