One of Aberdeen’s most anticipated charity events is set to return this summer, as Culture Crawl Aberdeen takes place on Friday, August 28, 2026, raising vital funds for Maggie’s Aberdeen in support of people living with cancer.
The much-loved evening event invites participants to step into the city after dark and take on a scenic route through Aberdeen, experiencing some of the city’s most iconic venues.
Organised in support of Maggie’s Aberdeen, Culture Crawl brings together the local community for a unique night of culture, creativity and connection. Participants can expect exclusive access to some of Aberdeen’s most iconic venues, live music and entertainment along the route, as well as food and refreshments, creating a truly memorable evening in support of a vital cause. Everyone who takes part will also receive a free Maggie’s t-shirt as part of the experience.
Last year’s event raised an incredible £67,000 which helps Maggie’s Aberdeen to continue providing free practical, emotional and social support for people affected by cancer, as well as their family and friends.
Carol Kennedy, Centre Fundraising Manager at Maggie’s Aberdeen, said: “Cancer touches so many lives in our community, and Culture Crawl is one of those rare evenings where something genuinely joyful rises in the face of that. Every single person who steps out into the Aberdeen night as part of Culture Crawl is making a statement: that the people affected by cancer in this city are not alone.
“The atmosphere is always incredible, the sense of togetherness is real, and the impact on those walking through our doors at Maggie’s is profound. This is a great event, for a great cause, and Aberdeen always shows up.
“Whether walking solo to remember a loved one, joining friends for a night to celebrate, or taking part as a team from work, Culture Crawl has always been about more than the miles. Previous years have seen everyone from solo walkers to large groups, including colleagues bonding over a shared cause, families walking in memory of someone special, and friends creating nights they’ll never forget. There is a place in this event for everyone. We can’t wait to do it all again this August, and we’ll be sharing more details very soon.”
Seonaidh Baker, Maggie’s Supporter, said: “I first took part in Maggie's Culture Crawl to show solidarity with everyone facing cancer - walking alongside others felt like a small but meaningful way to stand with them. When a close friend of mine was later diagnosed, that's when I joined the committee, determined to help Maggie's any way I could.
“The Culture Crawl is a wonderful way to raise vital funds for Maggie's and to support those with an illness that can affect any of us, but it’s also an experience in its own right, opening doors to venues you might never normally visit and creating moments of curiosity, community and kindness. One minute you're learning something new and the next you are discovering a place you never knew existed! It really makes you appreciate Aberdeen and all it has to offer!"
