Talented youngsters who would love to take to the stage for charity have been given more time to sign up ahead of the curtain going up at The Archie Foundation Variety Show 2026.

Already around 25 acts have signed up but the deadline has been extended until the end of May for anyone who has been thinking about joining in.

Now in its third year, the much-anticipated show will return to Aberdeen’s iconic Tivoli Theatre on Saturday, September 5, generously supported by new headline sponsor Phil Anderson Financial Services.

Youngsters who have been supported by The Archie Foundation or NHS Grampian in any way are being encouraged to get involved.

Last year’s show saw a host of young magicians, singers, dancers and comedians from all over the North of Scotland shining on stage in celebration of Archie’s 25th anniversary.

The event raised £26,006 for the children’s hospital charity, with the total topped up by other fundraising.

This year’s show will include a matinee performance to give even more people the chance to enjoy the fun-filled family event.

Archie volunteer and show organiser Cassie McGunnigle, said everyone is welcome to join in – and a super talent is not needed.

“This year’s show will be even bigger and better than ever and we’d still love to hear from anyone who would like to get involved but hasn’t signed up yet. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a particular talent – we will find a starring role for everyone.

“Each year we are inspired by the courage of the young people who take part in the Archie Variety Show. Many of them have been through some very tough times and seeing their moment in the spotlight is incredibly moving. As well as building confidence they leave with new friends so we’d encourage anyone thinking about it to sign up today!”

Phil Anderson, of sponsor Phil Anderson Financial Services, said the company was proud to be supporting the Variety Show.

“We are delighted to be sponsoring this year’s Archie Foundation Variety Show and know we – along with the audiences – will be blown away by the courage and determination of everyone who takes part,” he said. “It is hugely rewarding to supporting such a fantastic show which provides an incredible opportunity for children who have been helped by Archie to have their special moment to shine.”

The 2026 show will also be supported by The Tivoli Theatre, with the music in the show provided by Vivid Horizon.

All the proceeds from the show will go to Archie to help local babies, children and families during a hospital stay or following a bereavement.

The Archie Foundation has helped children and families across the north of Scotland for more than 25 years, funding specialist roles and projects at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and, more recently, at Highland Children’s Unit, Tayside Children’s Hospital and Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin.
