Storage Den in Aberdeen was awarded the prestigious Independent self storage site of the year award at the Self Storage Association UK (SSA UK) industry awards evening on 30 April.

Judged on a range of criteria including business performance, security, customer feedback, community involvement and marketing, they beat a strong field of entrants from all over the UK.

This hybrid site featuring both internal and external self storage is remotely managed allowing customers the convenience of accessing their goods in storage using just their mobile phone any time.  This provides a seamless experience that customers obviously appreciate based on their exceptional reviews.

The judges appreciated how Storage Den turned an unused and dilapidated building that was an eyesore in the local area into a prime self storage facility with stunning design. The store is supporting the development of local businesses that make up over a quarter of their customers, many of whom are small family businesses looking to expand.

The range of storage units and additional services provided mean there is a self storage solution for everyone at Storage Den.

The award was presented as part of the SSA UK annual conference and trade show held at the international centre in Telford.   The gala dinner was attended by over 480 self storage operators and staff.  The awards are judged by self storage specialists from around the world as well as marketing and customer specialists.

Brian Barbour of Storage Den noted: “Winning this award is a huge honour.  From the outset, Storage Den has aimed to create a facility that not only provides a best-in-class self storage but something which provides real value to our local community.  The journey so far has been incredibly rewarding, and I am grateful we have a loyal customer base who continue to support us.”
