The annual Pedigree Ram Show and Sale, hosted by Aberdeen & Northern Marts and kindly sponsored by Harbro Ltd with support from Elanco, will take place at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie on Tuesday 23rd September 2025.
This year’s event has attracted an impressive entry of 773, an increase on last year, comprising: 276 Suffolks, 179 Texels, 14 Bluefaced Leicester, 8 Border Leicester, 55 Charollais, 49 Beltex, 39 Blue Texel, 84 Dutch Spotted rams and females, and 69 pure and cross Any Other Breeds.
A respected line-up of judges has been secured for the event. The Suffolk section will be judged by Alistair Jackson, Maulscastle Farm, Cummertrees, Annan, Dumfriesshire, while James Barnetson, Lynegar, Caithness will oversee the Texels. Graeme Mather, Shandfords, Brechin, Angus will take charge of the Bluefaced Leicester, Border Leicester and Charollais classes. Owen Young, Nether Drumallochie, Glenkindie, Alford will judge the Beltex and Blue Texel sections, while the Dutch Spotted section will be judged by Alistair McKerrow, Riverview House, By Bo’ness, West Lothian.

At last year’s event, Texels led the way when a top price of 4,800gns was achieved for a Ram Lamb from Robert H Wilson, North Dorlaithers, Turriff. The Texel Championship was awarded to a Shearling Ram from M Seed & Son, Home Farm, Auchry by judge Ewan Gordon, Wellheads, Huntly, which went on to sell for 1,100gns.
