STV journalists and some technical staff are beginning a 24-hour strike over pay, leading to the cancellation of the broadcaster's election programme.
Members of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) and TV union Bectu are unhappy about a freeze on wages which they argue amounts to a real terms pay cut.
STV, the BBC reports, has said it understands the challenges facing staff but insists the measures are necessary to ensure the company has a strong financial footing.
The industrial action mean's STV's coverage of the Scottish election results, scheduled for 5pm, has been replaced.
Instead of seeing Anas Sarwar and John Swinney react to the vote, STV viewers will be watching Bradley Walsh and The Beast on The Chase.
Planned subsequent general news programming has also been cancelled.
