Thainstone Events, a division of leading co-operative ANM Group, successfully launched its first farmers’ market of 2026 on Sunday, March 29, welcoming more than 40 local vendors and attracting visitors from across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire for a vibrant morning celebrating local produce and businesses.
Held at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie, the market reflects a renewed focus by the Thainstone Events team to re-establish and grow its farmers’ market offering, while showcasing the very best of the region’s food, drink and artisan producers.
A total of 42 vendors took part, presenting a diverse and high-quality range of goods. Visitors browsed and purchased everything from fresh local meat, fish and seasonal vegetables to homemade preserves, sweet treats, handcrafted gifts and speciality dog products. The breadth of produce on offer reinforces the market’s ambition to become a key platform for supporting independent businesses and championing local supply chains.
Following the success of the March event, Thainstone Events is now preparing for its next two markets, scheduled for Sunday, May 31 and Sunday, July 26. Both will run from 9am to 1pm and promise a welcoming, family-friendly experience, with plans to expand the vendor line-up and introduce additional attractions.
With free entry, ample parking, and a combination of indoor and outdoor stalls, the markets aim to provide an accessible and enjoyable day out for the local community while continuing to highlight the strength and diversity of North-east producers.
Simon Garrow, Business Development Executive at Thainstone Events said, “We were delighted with the turnout for our first farmers’ market of the year. The day was a great success, and we would like to thank all the fantastic vendors who joined us – particularly for persevering through the temperamental weather.
Special thanks also go to our Events Administrator, Caitlin, for her hard work in bringing the market together. We’re excited to welcome visitors back to Thainstone for our upcoming markets in May and July, where we aim to build on this success and showcase even more outstanding local businesses.”
