Swines tour comes to Aberdeen’s Music Hall

Ireland’s top sketch trio are back on tour, bringing their new show, Swines, to Aberdeen’s Music Hall on Monday, February 24.

With over 62m YouTube hits and 341,000 subscribers, the group are best known for their online sketches. But it’s the live show where they really shine. The trio’s star is certainly in the ascendancy – so much so, in fact, that Swines was named as the British Comedy Guide’s best reviewed show at the Edinburgh Fringe festival for 2019 – with an average star rating of 4.5 for each review.

So put some clothes on, leave the house and come see an hour of scripted nonsense, twisted characters, music, and unintentional improvisation. Foil Arms and Hog are Sean Finegan (Foil), Conor McKenna (Arms) and Sean Flanagan (Hog), who met at University College Dublin while studying architecture, engineering and genetics, and decided to give all that up to pursue the noble art of being downright silly, yet observational, yet sometimes very topical and refreshingly philosophical.

Since then the boys have come a long way, and as well as fill venues with laughter at their live shows they have embraced the digital universe to become veritable internet stars. Besides the YouTube 100m, they also have nearly 950,000 Facebook followers and a fair few on Twitter too. All because they do concise, tightlyâ€filmed stories that are both culturally relevant and absurd. But most of all, as Rowan Atkinson testifies, the trio are “very funny”.

Performing live is what FA&H do best though, and besides their native Ireland they have toured the UK, US and Australia – to rapturous applause. Following on from the successful Oink and Craicling tours, Swines earned critical acclaim at the 2019 Edinburgh Festival.

Tickets cost £24 and are on sale now from www.aberdeenperformingarts.com, phone (01224) 641122 or visit the box office at the Music Hall, His Majesty’s Theatre or the Lemon Tree.
