Every September since 2024, something special has been happening in Aberdeen. As the city lights up in festival colours, pubs, theatres, lecture rooms and public spaces transform into hubs of curiosity.
Thousands of people of all ages come together to explore science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) in ways that are inspiring, surprising and - most importantly - fun.
TechFest see first-hand the impact Aberdeen Science Festival has on young people, families and the wider community. With a diverse, city-wide programme, there really is something for everyone: from family-friendly shows and hands-on workshops to adults-only evenings that combine science with comedy, culture and conversation.
For TechFest, the festival is more than an annual celebration of STEM. It is the love letter to Aberdeen and the communities that have supported TechFest for over 40 years. Every element is designed with the city in mind - from partnering with venues across the North- East, to celebrating our stunning coastline, collaborating with local businesses and spotlighting the inspirational people who call Aberdeen home. Alongside this, they welcome incredible performers and entertainers from across the UK and beyond, bringing fresh ideas and energy into the city.
Crucially, sponsorship allows the organisation to keep Aberdeen Science Festival affordable and accessible. Many events are free, with others priced as low as possible.
