PCL Group, a global provider of information technology services, has appointed well-known IT and telecoms specialist Ian MacIntosh to head up its new telecoms division.
The additional business line will complement the organisation’s current portfolio of services and is a natural progression as it plans for future growth.
In this newly created role as Telecoms Services Lead, Ian’s primary task will be to lead the set up and development of the new division, to drive digital transformation and unified and seamless communication solutions for clients ranging from SMEs up to large, multi-office companies.
Working directly with the UK’s leading telecom providers it will provide end-to-end managed support and services across business broadband and internet, voice and telephony services, cloud services, and leading communications technology.
The move will also lead to a number of new jobs within the company through the creation of a dedicated in-house telecom support team.
Ian MacIntosh and Jeanette Forbes
Ian brings with him more than 15 years’ of telecoms expertise to his new role, including eight years as the founder and managing director of his own company, Banchory-based CFN Solutions which was acquired last year.
During that time, he worked closely with the team at PCL Group delivering telecoms support to complement the organisation’s IT services.
“It has long been on the horizon for PCL Group to introduce telecoms to our ever-increasing portfolio of services, but it was about getting the timing right and making the shift,” said Dr Jeanette Forbes, CEO of PCL Group. “When the opportunity arose to have Ian join us, we could not have been more pleased. He knows our company very well and we know that his background and experience make him the perfect fit to take this new business line forward.
“In addition to supporting our growth as a company, this new business line responds to the increasing number of requests from our clients to add provision of telecoms services to our existing services,” said Dr Forbes.
Ian MacIntosh said: “Having worked with Jeanette and the PCL team for years, I’m excited to be joining the group as it positions for future growth with this new service provision.
“Many telecoms users have become increasing unhappy with the call centre culture that often doesn’t address their issues or problems in a timely, responsive manner. Our fully-managed telecoms service addresses that. Customers will deal directly with us, and we take full responsibility for the delivery of their telecoms and internet provision, ensuring a more seamless and efficient service, complementing the full range of IT services we already provide.”
