A terminally ill North-east woman described meeting Sir Mo Farah as "one of the highlights of my life" after the Olympic legend took time to meet her ahead of his sold-out appearance at Aberdeen Music Hall.

Ann Gallon, 53, from Macduff, who was diagnosed with adrenal cancer in 2022, met the four-time Olympic champion before his Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce UMF event ahead of Saturday's Aberdeen Half Marathon.

A lifelong runner who has completed numerous marathons, Ms Gallon said: "We had such a nice conversation. He's a right gentleman."

Reflecting on the meeting, she added: "I'm grateful. This is one of the highlights of my life."
