Following a diverse month of activity this spring, Thainstone Events, a division of leading co-operative ANM Group, highlights its venue as a launchpad for new and fast-growing events.

April proved a busy period, with a varied programme of events ranging from first-time exhibitions to daytime discos, drawing over 3,000 people through Thainstone’s doors – emphasising the growing demand for flexible, multi-purpose event spaces in the region.

Among the highlights was the debut of the Aberdeen Collectables Expo, marking its first-ever outing and drawing strong interest from enthusiasts and traders alike. The successful launch signals confidence in the venue’s ability to support new concepts, offering organisers the space and infrastructure needed to bring their ideas to life.

The month also saw the arrival of Clay North East – a two-day ceramics festival showcasing Scottish artists. The event has expanded significantly from its original venue, reflecting a broader trend of established events seeking larger, more adaptable spaces to accommodate increasing visitor numbers and exhibitor demand.

In a further demonstration of its versatility, the venue hosted a successful charity dinner that raised an impressive £57,990.98 for The Leanne Fund – a charity supporting children, young people and families affected by Cystic Fibrosis. The event underscored the centre’s capability to transform from exhibition halls to formal dining settings, catering to both corporate and community-led initiatives.

Simon Garrow, Business Development Executive for Thainstone Events, said: “It’s been a pleasure to host such a diverse and exciting line-up of events recently at Thainstone, and we continue to drive the events division forward by offering new and engaging experiences for the community.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to welcome the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra on 23rd May, bringing their full orchestra, pipe band and guest performers to the venue. We’ll then round off the month with the return of Thainstone Farmers Market on 31st May, showcasing a fantastic selection of local businesses.”
