Thainstone Events was proud to play an integral role in hosting the 2025 European Rural Youth Parliament (ERYP) on Tuesday 21st October, welcoming over 350 delegates from across Europe to Thainstone Centre, Inverurie.
The ERYP formed part of the wider 6th European Rural Parliament which aims to strengthen cross-border cooperation, inspire rural innovation, and shape future policy and practice in rural and island areas across Europe.
The ERYP event at Thainstone was designed and delivered by a passionate Advisory Board of 20 young volunteers aged 16 to 30, representing rural communities from across Scotland and Europe. The board curated a dynamic programme of workshops, panel sessions, and networking opportunities – all focused on empowering young rural voices.
Delegates were welcomed to Thainstone with a locally inspired lunch in the Bothy Function Suite, reflecting Thainstone’s commitment to quality local produce and hospitality.
Throughout the day, delegates participated in a range of interactive sessions hosted across Thainstone’s versatile event facilities, including the Glen Garioch meeting room, the Thainstone Exchange, and the Bothy Café spaces. A highlight of the day included a lively Q&A panel and an inspiring session held within one of the venue’s livestock rings, showcasing the Centre’s purpose.
The Thainstone Exchange was then transformed into a beautiful dinner space bringing together all 350 delegates for an inspiring evening. From lunch through to dinner, all catering was expertly created and served by ANM’s catering partners, Harry Fraser Catering.
Simon Garrow, Business Development Executive at Thainstone Events, said: “We were absolutely delighted to host the European Rural Youth Parliament at Thainstone. As the agricultural hub of the North East, it was a real pleasure to welcome so many passionate young people from across Europe to share ideas, connect, and collaborate on the future of rural communities.”
Grant Rogerson, Chief Executive of ANM Group, said: “Events like this underline the importance of investing in the next generation. As one of Scotland’s leading member owned co-operatives, ANM is proud to champion young people who are shaping the future of agriculture and rural life.”
The successful hosting of the ERYP reinforces Thainstone’s reputation not only as a leading events destination but also as a vibrant centre for rural enterprise, innovation, and community engagement in the North East of Scotland.
