AGCT would like to invite nominations from interested parties to sit as Board members to support the development of the Peterhead Prison Museum.
The Board meets four times a year and Trustees help develop policies and strategies, as well as ensure that the Trust stays focused on its main aims:
- The advancement of education by encouraging public engagement in local history, especially in connection to the former Peterhead Prison; and
- The advancement of arts, culture and heritage through the preservation and maintenance of the Peterhead Prison Museum and the lifeboat museum preserving and commemorating the work of the “Julia Park Barry” of Glasgow Lifeboat.
This continues to be a crucial time for the tourism industry, as attractions like Peterhead Prison across the country slowly recover from the devastating impact of CV19, whilst contending with incredibly challenging conditions regarding recruitment & retention of staff and, of course, the soaring cost of doing business.
Applications are welcomed from high-calibre individuals with a real passion for the work of the Peterhead Prison Museum [PPM] and tourism. In addition to undertaking duties required to ensure good governance of the Association, Trustees will be expected:
- To play an active part in supporting and driving forward the organisation
- To have a sound knowledge of the work of the PPM and wider tourism industry.
If you are interested in applying for this voluntary role, please request a nomination form by contacting heritage.hub@admiraltygateway.com.
Applications must be received by 5pm on Sunday, February 26, 2023.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a short, informal interview with the chairman and operations manager week commencing March 6, 2023.
If you have any questions regarding Board membership and responsibilities, please contact heritage.hub@admiraltygateway.com.
The final decision on the Board appointments will be made following interviews and agreement by the current Board of Trustees.
