This year Inverurie’s festive celebrations are expected to be even more amazing. With lots going on including a parade, fireworks, live bands, xmas stalls, Santa Run, a big sing performed by 350 pupils from local schools with the coolest attraction in town - A Christmas ice rink.

For the first time, Inverurie will welcome it’s coolest seasonal attraction to the town - and it is sure to add even more sparkle to the festivities! From the December 1, Inverurie will welcome a beautiful winter ice rink with stylish skating, festive food and drink, music and plenty of Christmas cheer.

We Are Inverurie Bid Manager, Derek Ritchie, said “We are absolutely thrilled to announce that the Inverurie Ice Rink will be in town from the December 1 to December 9 for this year’s festive celebrations. We are really looking forward to seeing everyone skating and enjoying themselves.”

‘Discover Christmas - Inverurie’ starts on Saturday, November 25 with a Christmas parade, Xmas Lights Switch On, live bands and the day finishing with a spectacular evening firework display.

The celebrations continue on Saturday, December 1, with a live performance by 350 local pupils performing the BIG Sing in front of the Town Hall, and the opening of this year’s ice rink.

This year’s Christmas market will be in Station Road, with a range of stalls offering crafts, produce and much more.

Visitors will be able to ice skate in the heart of Inverurie under twinkling festive lights! Supported by We Are Inverurie, the 12m x 12m metre ice rink, with a capacity of up to 45 skaters, will be open every day from December 1 - 9.

The ice rink, sponsored by Barrett Homes, welcomes skaters of all ages and abilities and is perfect for a family treat, a first date, or a great fun night out with friends. For those wishing to watch friends and family enjoying themselves, there will be a spectator’s area, adjacent to the rink with refreshments available.

From December 1 - 9 ,the ice rink will be open every day, daytime sessions on Saturday and Sunday start from 11am to 8pm and midweek Monday – Friday from 3pm - 8pm (from December 1 – 9 ). Skating sessions will be 30 mins and last skating session at 7.30 pm.

Tickets will be available at the Ice Rink and tickets cost £5.00 for all ages, ticket price includes hire of skating boots or penguin skate aid for small children.
