STV Radio will launch a full day earlier than originally planned and is now going live at 8am on Tuesday 6th January.
Legendary presenting duo Ewen Cameron and Cat Harvey will be the first official voices on the station with their much-anticipated breakfast show, promising listeners a noisy, fun and mischievous start to Scotland’s brand-new national station.
STV Radio promises an exciting schedule packed with Scotland’s favourite radio voices and an eclectic music offering with all the best tracks from the 80s, 90s and 2000s. The slogan – Never the Same Song, All Day Long – underpins the station’s commitment to offer a broader, more imaginative music mix every day, with less repetition and loads more brilliant tunes.
Graham Bryce, MD of STV Radio said: “I’m thrilled to say we’re ahead of schedule! Our new studio is built, and our brilliant production and presenting team are raring to go, so why wait? We’re getting things moving a bit earlier than originally planned and we hope to have as many listeners as possible with us for launch at 8am on Tuesday 6th January for what promises to be a lively and music-packed start to 2026.”
Breakfast presenter Ewen Cameron said: “Cat and I have been desperate to get back on air together ever since we signed up to STV Radio, so going live a day earlier than expected is the best news! We’ve been beavering away behind the scenes, coming up with fun ideas and nonsense for the show and we can’t wait to welcome guests into our shiny new studio and start chatting to our listeners every weekday over breakfast.”
Test transmissions have begun rolling out on DAB and DAB+ regions of Scotland as well as STV Player and smart speakers ahead of launch and listeners are invited to tune in to get a flavour of the station and its playlist ahead of the 6th.
From Thursday 1 January, STV Radio’s 1000 Song Countdown will begin and continue right through to the official launch on Tuesday 6 January. Listeners can submit song requests for the 1000 Song Countdown at stvradio.co.uk.
STV Radio officially launches at 8am on Tuesday 6 January. The station will be available across Scotland on DAB, STV Player, stvradio.co.uk and on your smart speaker – just ask it to “Play STV Radio”.
