We celebrated the achievements of thirty Grampian businesses striving to keep their workforce healthy at our Award Ceremony held at Hazlehead Park Function Suite on the May 17 2019.
The 2019 Award Ceremony was a great opportunity to network, hear about other Award journeys. Watch the highlights of the day here https://vimeo.com/337744689
KR Steel was one of those presented with a bronze Award at the ceremony. director Nicola Fraser said: “What we’ve found with Healthy Working Lives is that it’s improved communication – people are talking to each other and we are sending out information to help them – and there’s been work on becoming one big team rather than ‘them and us’.
Lyndsey Beckwith, business support manager at NHS Grampian Acute Care, was one of the eight recipients of a silver Award, said: “Healthy Working Lives has been a great way to engage with staff in a way that’s relevant to them, but also make the managers more aware of policies allowing them to offer more support when needed."
Joanna Caie, wellbeing at work manager at Bon Accord Care who was one of those presented with a gold Award, said: “I would 100% recommend Healthy Working Lives to other employers – it’s reduced absence levels and it’s a been a great driver for us, and getting the surveys back has been valuable because it’s feedback on how we are doing and ways we can continue to make improvements.”
We are hosting a free Advisory Session on heart health and lifesaving skills for the workplace open to all Grampian businesses and organisations in collaboration with the British Heart Foundation.
Learn how to look after your heart health, hands on CPR training, free Heartstart trainings available to your workplace, opportunities for volunteering and fundraising activities and tips for heart health.
We support employers to improve staff health and wellbeing with simple ideas they can apply in the workplace. Our Advisory Sessions are full of practical suggestions for workplace and community activities and information campaigns that can be used as evidence to validate your Healthy Working Lives Award criteria.
