As part of the government’s Plan for Jobs, a £2bn Kickstart Scheme was introduced to create hundreds of thousands of new jobs for young people across the country.
Employers will receive a £1,500 grand to cover the set-up costs and receive funding for 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum auto-enrolment pension contributions.
The kickstart scheme was due to end on December 31, 2021 but has been extended till next year.
HR Hub Plus Limited through its ‘Kickstart Employability Skills Package’ has supported numerous business owners access the grant and provides the relevant admin support and employability skills training to meet the grants criteria, with a 98% success rate.
John Lungsden, director of Rogers McHugh Recruitment Limited, had this to say regarding process of the new kickstart he took onboard: “Thanks to HR Hub Plus Limited who helped us through the initial application process and helped us get the ball rolling.” His Kickstart, Mohammad Kokoei stated “I wanted to get into recruitment industry and the kickstart was good opportunity to get into it as trainee. Hopefully, I can stay for long term as that’s my goal.” He then went onto say “I also love the employability skills training as we learn different skills per session and there’s that extra support if we ever need it. Meeting new kickstarters from various companies via zoom makes me feel at ease and comfortable that this government scheme is working with local business owners to give young people like us a chance”
