Aberdeen’s vibrant Shiprow Village is home to The Old Workshop, a bar that has built its reputation on creativity, community, and a love for all things spirits and cocktails.

Since opening its doors just over three years ago, the venue has quickly become a cornerstone of the city’s hospitality scene, celebrated for its carefully curated drinks menus, live music events, and collaborations with local artists, musicians, and bartenders.

Now, The Old Workshop is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Cocktail Bar of the Year category at the Scottish Licensed Trade News (SLTN) Awards 2025. This recognition marks a major milestone for the team, as the category is notoriously competitive, with many of Scotland’s most popular and established cocktail venues in the running.

The Old Workshop stands alongside two Glasgow heavyweights: Daddy Marmalades, that the Old Workshop hosted for a lively takeover earlier this year, and The Absent Ear, known for its innovative approach to cocktails. Representing Aberdeen on the national stage is no small feat, and the team is thrilled to be recognised among such esteemed company.

The winners will be revealed at the SLTN Awards ceremony this November, an event that celebrates the best in Scotland’s hospitality sector. Until then, The Old Workshop will continue doing what it does best … crafting memorable drinks, showcasing quality products, and offering guests a warm, welcoming space in their atmospheric tunnel bar.
