The owners of Aberdeen’s The Chester Hotel, located in the city’s west end, have purchased the neighbouring buildings.
Graham and Gillian Wood, who also own The Chester Residence in Edinburgh, have acquired the category B listed properties at 55 – 57 Queens Road which were built in 1898. Adjacent to The Chester Hotel, the buildings are interconnecting Victoria granite villas.
Comprising 56,000 sq ft across four stories, the property comes with planning consent for hotel, restaurant and bar use.
The site also features a 22-space car park and a significant area of open ground at the rear.
Commenting on the purchase, Graham Wood said: “The acquisition of the adjacent properties at 55-57 Queens Road provides a good opportunity to purchase a prime West-end property. We will be looking at a number of options for developing the property over time.
“We continue to believe that Aberdeen is a good place to do business. We are pleased with what we have created so far, and this acquisition clearly increases our potential.”
The Chester Hotel opened in 2014 following a £5m refurbishment programme, it comprises a fine dining restaurant, private dining rooms, lounge bar, function suite, spa and 50 bedrooms.
