Amazon is refusing to promote employees who work from home or do not come into the office at least three days a week.
"Like any company, we expect employees who are being considered for promotion to be in compliance with company guidelines and policies," shared a company spokesperson.
Those who do not comply with the mandate will require approval from the vice president before achieving a promotion.
Earlier this year, almost 30,000 employees petitioned Amazon to drop its policy on office working, but that was rejected.
The spokesperson added: "Managers own the promotion process, which means it is their responsibility to support your growth through regular conversations and stretch assignments, and to complete all required inputs for a promotion.
"If your role is expected to work from the office 3+ days a week and you are not in compliance, your manager will be made aware and VP approval will be required."
Last month, managers were told they would be able to fire staff who do not follow the mandate
The company has yet to comment.
