A quartet of new shows announced for His Majesty’s Theatre and the Music Hall will invite theatre-goers to experience timeless stories ranging from children’s favourites to rock n roll royalty.
His Majesty’s Theatre audiences will be treated to the electrifying thrill of musical legends in West End blockbuster Million Dollar Quartet and the nerve-tingling mystery of Dickens classic The Signalman, while younger fans will have the chance to go on an adventure with Zog and the Flying Doctors at the Music Hall and delight in the colourful classic The Very Hungry Caterpillar at His Majesty’s Theatre.
Aberdeen Performing Arts Head of Programming, Steven Milne, said: “Million Dollar Quartet is a shining example of the enduring thrill of the music of icons such as Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley and is just a joy to behold, while The Signalman will be a must-see for fans of suspense and masterful storytelling.

On the night of December 4, 1956, four musical icons entered a recording studio in Memphis and made music history. Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley were brought together by pure chance for a jam session which would go on to shape the trajectory of rock‘n’roll.

The show stars stage and screen favourite, Darren Day (Hollyoaks, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Chicago) as Sam Phillips, the visionary producer who created the sound of rock'n'roll, alongside a sensational cast and live band.
Dickens’ ghostly masterpiece, The Signalman, will roll in to HMT from Tuesday, September 14 to Saturday, September 18. Set in 1880, this is the exquisitely unnerving tale of a tormented signalman who is haunted by visions of impending disaster on his isolated stretch of line. Can a well-meaning traveller, who chances upon the lonely signal box while out walking, calm the man’s fears before he spirals into self-destruction?
Starring Chris Walker, who is probably best known for his fifteen years playing Rob Hollins in Doctors, as well as regular roles in Merseybeat, Playing the Field, The Bill and Coronation Street, and John Burton who is best known for his ongoing portrayal of Sergeant Goodfellow in the hugely successful worldwide series Father Brown.
Zog and the Flying Doctors lands at the Music Hall from Wednesday, July 14 to Thursday, July 15, 2027, promising a live show packed with laughter, music and mischief for all the family.

Created by Jonathan Rockefeller, the critically acclaimed show features a menagerie of over 75 magical larger-than-life puppets, including the star of the show –The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Alongside The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the show features three additional Eric Carle stories. Audiences will also meet the colourful characters of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, travel the world with 10 Little Rubber Ducks, and search the night with The Very Lonely Firefly. These beloved tales are brought to life by a talented cast of storytellers, sweeping original music, and stunning puppetry that is faithful to the Carle’s iconic artwork.
