Touch of Love Outreach (TOL) is pleased to welcome Rev. Fr. Maximilian Nwosu, fondly known as Fr. Max, as the newest member of its Board of Trustees.

His appointment comes as TOL continues to strengthen its work with families, children, young people and communities across Aberdeen and beyond. As the charity grows, strong governance, thoughtful leadership and a clear heart for community service remain central to its future.

Fr. Max brings a strong background in pastoral leadership, community service, education, communication and data analytics. He currently serves as Parish Priest of St Mary’s RC Church, Beauly, and as Dean of St Joseph’s Deanery in the Highland. In these roles, he provides pastoral leadership, supports collaboration among parishes, and contributes to the spiritual and pastoral life of the Catholic community across the Highland Deanery.

Touch of Love Outreach supports families and individuals experiencing hardship and isolation through services including its food bank, Young Achievers Club and wider community activities. The charity provides practical help while also creating spaces where people can feel connected, included and supported.

Fr. Max’s experience will support the charity’s future work in important ways. As a trustee, he will help provide guidance, oversight and strategic support as TOL continues to respond to local need, develop its services and build stronger community connections. His background in pastoral care also reflects the charity’s people-centred approach, where dignity, compassion and practical support sit closely together.

Fr. Max holds Bachelor’s degrees with Honours in Philosophy and Theology, Higher National Diplomas in Mass Communication and Computer Science, and a Master’s degree in Applied Data Analytics. This broad educational background reflects his commitment to lifelong learning and brings together theological insight, communication skills, technological knowledge and analytical expertise.

Alongside his professional and academic experience, Fr. Max brings leadership experience, community engagement expertise and a strong commitment to service. These values align closely with TOL’s mission, which is rooted in practical care, dignity, community connection, and support for people who need help and a sense of belonging.

Speaking about his appointment, Fr. Max said: “I am deeply honoured and grateful to accept the invitation to serve as a Trustee of TOL. I see this not simply as an appointment but as a call to serve alongside dedicated people who are committed to bringing hope, dignity and practical support to families and communities. I look forward to contributing my experience, working collaboratively with my fellow trustees and volunteers in supporting the charity’s vision with faith, integrity and compassion. May God continue to bless and guide the important work of TOL.”

Fr Franklin Umeh, chairperson of the board of trustees, welcomed the appointment, saying: “We are truly delighted to welcome Fr. Max to the Board of Trustees. His heart for service, wisdom, and deep commitment to people and community reflect the values we hold dearly at TOL. As our work grows, we are grateful for the support, guidance and leadership he will bring as we develop our work with families, young people and communities.”

Fr. Max’s appointment adds further strength to the charity’s leadership as TOL continues its work of offering practical help, dignity, connection and hope to communities across Aberdeen and beyond.
