Pupils, parents and staff at Robert Gordon's College are delighted to see strong examination results continue at all levels from S4 to S6, with S5 producing a record breaking year of Higher results.

Top ranking British Tennis player Ross Martin (S5) opened his results via Facebook Live. Talking about the experience he shared: “I was surprised to get 5 As at Higher.” Talking about sharing the moment so publicly he said “it was nerve wracking as I really didn’t know how I had done.” Fellow S5 pupil Molly Whitehouse joined Ross on Facebook Live. She commented: “I was quite surprised about a couple of subjects particularly Chemistry as my calculator broke during the exam.”
Rhia Badial (S5) added: “I am really pleased that I got 5 As at Higher in Biology, Chemistry, English, Mathematics and RMPS. I have always been a big fan of the Sciences and am now looking forward to Advanced Higher Chemistry, Biology and RMPS in Sixth Year. The Global Alliance for Innovative Learning convention in South Africa at the start of July was an amazing experience where I met so many new friends from seven different schools across the world. Learning about the different cultures tied in really well with my favourite subject, which is RMPS.”
With four pupils in total attending Oxbridge this year, Rory Rose (S6) said: “I have now met my conditions to study Materials Science at Oxford. Longer term, I am interested in working in research. I have worked hard to try and maintain my competitive national level sailing at weekends and balance school work along with it.”
Now heading for Cambridge with three As at Advanced Higher Geography, Mathematics and Physics, S6 pupil Katy Wilson said: “I am over the moon that I’ve met my conditions to study Geography at Cambridge.”
Talking about her results and next steps Miriam McDonald (S6) shared: “I am really pleased with my results and that all the hard work has paid off. I’ve really enjoyed my time at Gordon’s where the extra-curricular opportunities, in particular the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, has really developed me as a person and the S6 Science labs have provided the space to focus on my Sixth Year projects. I am really excited to go on to study Medicine at University of Aberdeen. Although I had four offers, I liked the Aberdeen course the best.”
Mike Elder, Head of Robert Gordon’s Senior School said: “We are delighted and proud of all the senior pupils at Robert Gordon’s who have worked hard with determination and effort to maximise their potential. It is particularly exciting to see our talented group of S6 leavers going on to a wide range of university courses and other opportunities.”
Talking about the continued academic success at Gordon’s, Head of College, Simon Mills, commented: “These exceptional outcomes underpin the high quality experiences for learners of all ages. Pupils at all levels have worked extremely hard, with the support of their teachers, allowing them to flourish and aim high.”
