A new managing director is to take the helm at SFF Services Limited, the commercial wing of the Scottish Fishermen’s Federation, with the upcoming retirement of long-serving incumbent Steven Alexander.
Sheryl Gove has been promoted to MD Designate of both SFF Services Limited and its subsidiary company Marine Environmental Solutions Limited and will make the step up to MD when Steven stands down in April.

“Steven has been with SFF Services for 30 years, and has been MD for the past 10 years, so his retirement will be a significant change for the company,” said board chairman Brian Isbister.
“But we are very fortunate in having Sheryl, currently our marine operations and QHSE manager, who started working here in 2011 and who will be a very able replacement.
“I would like on behalf of both companies to thank Steven for his unstinting service and welcome Sheryl into her new role.”

Steven said: “It has been a privilege to work with the great team here at SFF Services and with all our valued clients, and I will leave in April knowing that in my retirement the companies will be in good hands.”
Sheryl added: “Steven’s will be very big shoes to fill, but I am very much looking forward to taking over and building on his legacy.”
Steven joined the SFF Services marine operations team in March 1996, establishing himself as a key player in developing systems and service delivery. He was promoted to Director of Marine Operations in 2012 then to Director of Business Development in October 2013 and to managing director in January 2016.
