Aberdeen-based audiovisual specialists PCL Live are celebrating a triple shortlist at the prestigious AV Awards 2025, with nominations for Start-Up of the Year, AV Professional of the Year (Adam Wilson), and Rising Star (Alex Sherman).
The recognition marks a milestone moment for the company, which in just three years has grown from a local start-up into a nationally recognised AV provider with a £1.4 million turnover in the past 12 months.
“This is an incredible moment for our team,” said Adam Wilson, Founder and Managing Director of PCL Live, shortlisted for AV Professional of the Year for the third consecutive year. “To see both the company and our people recognised on a national stage is something special. It reflects not just individual success, but the collective effort of everyone at PCL Live who works tirelessly to deliver outstanding results for our clients.”
Start-Up of the Year: Redefining AV
Founded in Aberdeen in 2022, PCL Live has quickly established itself as a disruptive force in the AV sector. The company first started as an event livestream specialist and has since expanded its services to stock and deploy indoor/outdoor LED videowalls, installations, event equipment hire, live streaming, digital signage, and video production.
In just three years, PCL Live has secured major contracts across energy, government, healthcare, and events, delivered industry-first innovations such as the world’s first 162” touchscreen LED videowall, and launched Broadcast by PCL Live, an in-house platform helping clients stream secure, branded events to global audiences.
Adam Wilson: AV Professional of the Year 2025
Shortlisted for AV Professional of the Year for the third year running, Wilson has guided PCL Live through rapid, sustainable growth while keeping a customer-first ethos at the heart of operations. Over the past year, he has led the expansion of the company’s LED videowall inventory to over 400m², introduced single-power solutions to cut energy use at events, and steered the business through its first seven-figure year.
Wilson’s leadership has also placed sustainability at the centre of PCL Live’s strategy, with a focus on energy-efficient technology, reduced waste, and carbon reduction goals in line with national targets.
Alex Sherman: A Rising Star in the Industry
Commercial Director Alex Sherman has been shortlisted for the Rising Star Award, following a quick rise from Business Development Manager to business leader in just over two years.
Sherman has transformed how PCL Live engages with clients, led high-value installation projects such as the ONE SeedPod development, and championed new sustainability initiatives including the adoption of Chip on Board (COB) LED technology, which cuts power consumption by up to 40%. He is also driving the development of a Carbon Impact Calculator to help clients track and reduce their own AV footprint.
Reflecting on his nomination, Sherman said: “I never expected, when I joined this industry just over two years ago, to be standing alongside some of the top names in AV. This recognition is as much about the incredible team at PCL Live as it is about me personally.”
Looking ahead
With three shortlists at the AV Awards 2025, PCL Live stands among the UK’s most dynamic AV companies. The winners will be announced in London this November, where the industry will gather to celebrate its standout achievers.
“This triple recognition is a proud moment for us,” added Wilson. “But more importantly, it motivates us to keep raising the bar - in innovation, sustainability and client service.”
