True North Advisors has announced a series of senior promotions and a new appointment as the fast-growing communications, marketing and public affairs agency continues to expand its specialist advisory offer to its growing range of clients.
Allister Thomas has been promoted to Head of Energy, reflecting his growing role in shaping the firm’s work with businesses operating across the offshore wind, hydrogen, decommissioning, transmission and oil and gas sectors.
Supporting Allister will be newly appointed Senior Energy Advisor, Hamish Penman, who joins the firm following a successful senior agency role, and five years as a respected journalist at leading industry publication Energy Voice and in broadcast media.
Dr Eilidh Whiteford has been promoted to Head of Policy Development and Research and will spearhead the firm’s policy-led advisory work. The former MP supports clients navigating complex legislative and regulatory environments.
Andrew Liddle has also been promoted to Head of Government Relations, where the London-based former senior Labour Party advisor will lead True North’s work supporting clients with government, parliamentary and stakeholder engagement at Holyrood and Westminster.
Geoff Aberdein, Managing Partner of True North Advisors, said: “These promotions reflect the expertise, commitment and leadership we have across the firm.
“Allister, Eilidh and Andrew continue to make a major contribution to the growth and success of True North, and their appointments put us in a strong position as we move into the next phase of our expansion.
“We’re also delighted to welcome Hamish to True North Advisors. He brings a wealth of experience of developing and executing global media and PR strategies for clients across the renewables and oil and gas sectors. We’ve built a strong reputation as specialists in energy and public affairs, and the continued growth of our energy team is a clear reflection of the demand we’re seeing from clients across the industry.”
