The Trump Organization’s Scottish golf resorts have been recognised at the prestigious World Golf Awards in Abu Dhabi, with Trump International Golf Links, Scotland, named Best Golf Course in Scotland 2023 and Trump Turnberry awarded World’s Best Halfway House.
The World Golf Awards celebrate excellence in golf tourism, recognising the best golf courses, clubhouses, tour promoters, hotels and golfing destinations in the world, with nominees from 65 nations across North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and the Middle East.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Sarah Malone, Executive Vice President of Trump International Scotland, said:
“We are immensely proud to receive the coveted award for Best Golf Course in Scotland here in Abu Dhabi.
“To achieve this level of recognition for our majestic modern links, which lies in the home of golf and is up against many of the greatest golf courses anywhere in the world, is testament to the amazing team at Trump and the most spectacular dunes in the world.
“2023 marks an exciting new chapter for Trump International, Scotland. We broke ground on another world-class championship links among the Great Dunes of Scotland and hosted the Legends Tour, PGA Seniors Championship - the world’s oldest seniors’ tournament, this year.”
Also honoured at the World Golf Awards, Trump Turnberry Resort in Ayrshire won World’s Best Halfway House, for the fourth year in a row, for its iconic Halfway House overlooking the historic Turnberry Lighthouse.
Sarah Malone continued: “We are also thrilled to collect the award for World’s Best Halfway House on behalf of Trump Turnberry. There are few more recognisable and historical landmarks in golf than the Turnberry Lighthouse – and winning this award further highlights its standing at the heart of one of the world’s truly great golf courses.”
Ralph Porciani, General Manager at Trump Turnberry, said: “Preserving and respecting our history is vital in everything we do here at Trump Turnberry, and we always want to find new ways to create experiences for our guests that pay homage to our heritage. That’s why the decision was taken to create the halfway house in 2016, allowing golfers to enjoy this one-of-a-kind Scottish landmark, and we are delighted to see it named the world’s best for the fourth year in a row.”
Ms Malone and Jonas Hedberg, Director of Golf for Trump International, Scotland, attended the glittering prize giving ceremony in Abu Dhabi last night, alongside representatives from the best golf properties in the world.
