Here are the top business stories making the headlines in the morning newspapers.
Covid could have come from Chinese lab
The possibility the Covid virus leaked from a laboratory should not be ruled out, a former top Chinese government scientist has told the BBC.
As head of China's Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Prof George Gao played a key role in the pandemic response and efforts to trace its origins.
China's Government dismisses any suggestion the disease may have originated in a Wuhan laboratory.
But Prof Gao said: "You can always suspect anything. That's science. Don't rule out anything."
A world-leading virologist and immunologist, Prof Gao is now vice-president of the National Natural Science Foundation of China after retiring from the CDC last year.
Bad news on supermarket prices
The rate of price rises at UK supermarkets hit a new high in the year to May due to coffee, chocolate and non-food goods.
The British Retail Consortium (BRC) and NielsenIQ said that the overall rate of inflation reached 9%.
While prices for fresh food have fallen marginally, the cost of commodities such as coffee and cocoa has jumped.
The UK Government is in talks about asking supermarkets to cap prices on food items to help with the cost of living.
An agreement, which would be voluntary, would limit the cost of basic foods such as bread and milk.
But the BRC has dismissed caps, stating the government should focus on cutting red tape so resources could be directed to keeping prices as low as possible, as opposed to "recreating 1970s-style price controls".
The BRC and NielsenIQ figures, covering the week between May 1 and 6, show that overall food inflation ticked lower from 15.7% in the year to April to 15.4%.
The BBC says that, despite the fall, the figure is the second-highest rate of food inflation on record.
Scottish stadium record for Styles
Harry Styles has broken the record for Scotland's biggest-selling stadium show, according to the concert venue.
More than 65,000 fans watched the former One Direction star perform his Love On Tour show at Murrayfield in Edinburgh on Saturday.
The BBC says the stadium record is previously listed for One Direction, who sold 64,000 tickets at Murrayfield in 2014.
The 28-year-old singer began his world tour at Glasgow's Ibrox Stadium in June last year.
Biden optimistic on deal
US President Joe Biden has said he is optimistic that a deal to suspend the nation's debt ceiling will pass through Congress.
The deal must pass in the House of Representatives before it is voted on in the Senate.
Democratic and Republican leaders say they expect it will be approved, but some lawmakers have said they will vote against it.
The US may default on its debt by June 5 without action being taken.
The House and Senate are expected to return to the Capitol today.
The BBC says a vote on the bill in the House of Representatives is scheduled for tomorrow.
Vapes loophole to be closed
A loophole allowing retailers to give free vape samples to children is set to be closed under UK Government plans to curb their use among young people.
A new crackdown on vape marketing would prevent the "unacceptable" targeting of children and teens, said Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
There will also be a review into the rules around the sale of "nicotine-free" products to under-18s.
Labour called the announcement a "baby step" and said urgent action is needed.
The BBC says government plans also include a review of rules on issuing fines for shops selling illicit vapes.
New wrappers for Mars bars
Mars bars have been given a new look with recyclable paper wrappers instead of plastic.
It is part of a pilot, trialling more environmentally-friendly materials for Mars Food's chocolate bars.
The new packaging will be rolled out at 500 Tesco stores in the UK.
The BBC says the move follows steps by chocolate rival Nestle, which has been using paper packaging for Smarties since January 2021 and on some Quality Street sweets since December 2022.
