Video screen ‘inspired by Piccadilly Circus’ to overlook The Green at Aberdeen’s new market
As work steadily progresses on Aberdeen’s new market, fresh plans show how the new event space at the Green could look — complete with a huge video screen.
The new multi-million-pound food and drink hub will eventually boast a “scenic plaza” designed for events and pop-up markets.
Inside, 11 food and drink vendors are planned for the ground floor, with outdoor seating and a large LED screen helping to create a lively vibe.

Reselling tickets above face value set to be banned by government
Reselling tickets to live events for a profit is set to be banned by the government.
Ministers are expected to announce the plan in a bid to tackle touts and resale sites which offer tickets at several times' face value.
Restricting ticket touts was one of the Labour government's election pledges, as fans complained of massively inflated prices for resale tickets for music and sporting events.

Snow and ice warnings come into force across Scotland
The Met Office has warned that yellow weather warnings for snow and ice could impact travel in Scotland and northern England later.
Scattered showers of rain, sleet and snow are expected overnight into Tuesday, with an ice alert already in place for the north and east Highlands until 10:00.
A second ice warning comes into force at 05:00 until 12:00 on Tuesday, covering much of central and southern Scotland as well as northern England.

Plans to bring back Aberdeen’s hydrogen buses revealed after 18 months out of action
The council and BP has joined forced to build a green hydrogen hub, where renewable electricity from a solar farm will produce the fuel, initially to power the city’s hydrogen vehicles.
It is thought the first phase of the project will produce enough hydrogen to fuel 25 buses. However, the plant on Hareness Road is not expected to be operational until 2026.
Councillors were given an update on the hydrogen buses and fuelling stations behind closed doors at a recent committee meeting.
